“Thunder is good. Thunder is impressive. But it is lightning that does the work.” - Mark Twain
Labor Day – “But Jesus, look who did all the work!”
Matthew 20:1 Jesus said, “For the kingdom of heaven is like a farmer who went out at 6:00 am to hire laborers for his vineyard. 2 “And when he had agreed with the laborers about a day’s wage, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 “And he went out about 12:00 noon and saw others standing idle in the market place; 4 and to those he said, ‘You too go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ And so they went. 5 “Again he went out at 6:00 pm and did the same thing. 8 “And when evening had come, the farmer who owned the vineyard called the laborers to pay them their wages, beginning with the last group to the first.’ 9 “And when those hired at 6:00 pm came, each one received a full day’s wage. 10 “And when those hired first (at 6:00 am) came, they thought that they would be given more than the others . . . But they weren’t!
They said, “Jesus, you aren’t fair.” Jesus said, “Is your eye unable to see that I am good?”
