About
-
We are people,
of all ages, connecting with God and one another. -
We believe in Jesus,
God’s only Son who died on a cross for our sins, who was raised to life and will one day return to receive those who have believed in Him.
-
We believe in the Trinity,
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God is three in one and each part is integral to faith. -
We teach the Bible,
believing that it is from God, entirely true, and immensely relevant to our present age. -
We worship,
in a casual and contemporary way.
-
Our leadership team,
is comprised of godly and mature church members and pastoral staff. -
We encourage connection,
outside of our formal Sunday activities. -
We support outreach,
to people in our community. - We support global missions.
-
We care about our community.
At Cornerstone, we want to begin and deepen faith in Christ through a caring community. We were never meant to go it alone. We need one another. -
We care about forgiveness and restoration.
We desire healing through forgiveness that is offered to us through Jesus, to make us whole and healthy individuals made in God’s image. -
We care about kids and youth.
At Cornerstone, we desire to see kids launch their faith and grow into people who love God and one another. To help achieve that goal, we have a variety of kid-focused ministries throughout the year on Sunday morning, Wednesday nights and special events.
Lead Pastor
Robert Permenter
As a young man about to enter college, Robert had a powerful encounter with the radical love of God, and never got over it. This fueled his drive to learn as much as he could and passionately communicate this message to others so they, too, would experience the transforming joy God offers through Jesus Christ.
A learner and teacher at heart, Robert obtained an MDiv from Denver Seminary and a DMin from Gordon Conwell Seminary. He enjoys using his skills to build a positive community and to interact relevantly with the culture at large. Whether communicating as a pastor, adjunct professor, certified flight instructor or actor, he finds it challenging and rewarding to explore the ‘human condition’ we are all a part of.
In his free time, Robert enjoys acting in theater and film, and spending time with his wife, Chere’, as well as their three adult children, Josh, J.J. (wife Christina) and Niki. You might find them in a trivia contest at a local hangout, sailing Lake Superior or attending an arts or sporting event.
Campus Pastor
Tim Bennyhoff
Tim has been on staff at Cornerstone since 2008 encouraging individuals in their walk with God and assisting others in their various ministries. His heart’s desire is to see people walk wholeheartedly with God and truly look out for one another. He and his wife, Vicky, have four sons. Tim likes just about anything outdoors, from disc-golf to hunting morels in the woods, and a little friendly competition in anything from chess to pickleball.
Youth and Worship Director
Jonathan Rea
Jonathan has been our Youth and Worship director here at Cornerstone since 2021. His passions drive both of his ministries as he finds ways to combine his love of music, and guiding students through some of the toughest times they’ll ever experience, with the joys and love that Christ has given to all.
Jonathan is assisted by his wife Teresa and together they have two precious boys Zion (5) and Asaph (3).
Administrative Assistant
Eileen Halls
Eileen has worked in the church office since 2017. Eileen’s desire is to encourage others and bring honor to God. Eileen is happily married to Tom. She loves to be with her family and quilt with friends.
